USA and Nova Scotia
From August until October 2005 we explored the coast of New England and Nova
Scotia. We spent a week in New York, where we were fortunate enough catch
up with Norm's nephew, his wife Sandra and their two children Dave and Laura.
They were in NY to celebrate Dave's 21st Birthday. After New York, we had a week in
Boston, then hired a car and drove down to the Cape Code National Seashore.
It was hard to leave Cape Cod, but we had to move on and next on our itinerary
were Newport and Mystic. We spent almost a week in Rhode Island State, visiting
Providence as well, then drove north following the coastline to Bar Harbor.
We had ample time and took the opportunity of exploring the
beautiful bays and harbours en route. At Bar Harbor we put our car on the Cat
for Nova Scotia. Nova Scotia was delightful, beautiful scenery and almost completely untouched by tourism. On our return trip on the Cat we
were entertained by several groups of Barber-shoppers, including the "Worcestermen
of Song", who were returning from a contest in Nova Scotia. Rod, if you should
ever visit this site I'd like to thank you and your colleagues for making our
trip so very memorable. I have never been serenaded by 200 men before!
The
following photos are just a sample of several thousand that I took in this
beautiful part of the world.
