Jordan

In late September / early October 2008 we visited the Kingdom of Jordan.  It was my desire to visit the ancient Nabatean city of Petra that enticed me to Jordan but I was completely captivated by the wild beauty of Wadi Rum, could not believe that I could actually float in the Dead Sea (I sink everywhere else!) and we certainly should have devoted more time to exploring the ruined Roman cities of Gadara and Jerash.  On our first morning in Jordan it was hard to believe that I was exploring a crusader castle built by one of Saladin's generals and when we visited Mt Nebo and looked over "The Promised Land" I had to pinch myself to make sure that I wasn't dreaming.   We were fortunate to have a wonderful driver and guide; Hassan and Mohammed if you should ever find this website .. shukran jazeelan.
