Japan

In September 2006 we visited Japan.  Our travels took us to Tokyo,  Nikko, Hakone, Nagoya, Magome, Tsumago, Takayama, Hiroshima and Kyoto.

Japan is a fascinating and beautiful country - a land of contradictions - the pace in Tokyo was frenetic while the Kiso Valley was an oasis of tranquillity.   The Japanese people are without doubt the kindest people that we have ever met.  Every day was filled with acts of kindness from complete strangers.  If you have not yet visited Japan, I urge you to put it on your "must see" list.
